A Visit to The Pulau Ubin Island

On 10^th September 2009, I went to Pulau Ubin Island with some of my friends from SIM and SP as I’ve never been there before and I’ve heard that it’s really a great place to visit. So I gave it a chance to get there. We started leaving from Clementi MRT station at about 8.30am and took the Bus no. 2 from Tenah Merah MRT.

We alighted at the last stop and there we can see a small market. So we bought some snacks and mineral water just in case if there is no place to buy them on island. Then we went to the harbor, which is just a few steps away from that small market, to start leaving for Pulau Ubin. There, we took a boat and a few minutes later, we’d finally got our feet on Pulau Ubin island Yahoooooo!!

We had our lunch there, rented a few bikes after that and started rocking there! It can be said that it really is a great place to try to visit as many features of different places can be seen in a single place, Pulau Ubin. To make it clear, there’s got a shore where we can play water like in East coast, a really beautiful so-called forest roads where we can do hiking and cycling, some peaceful shelters to relax, a few bridges which are built a few yards away from the shores or around the coast where we could enjoy the feeling of being in the middle of the sea and take pictures there, and a lot more.

Along the way, we’ve got some problems with our bikes as the chains from different bikes came out from theirs routes, so we needed to fix it at different times which made us delay. But, I didn’t see it as a problem. It’d be so boring if we didn’t even have that kind of things to solve or to fix. It’s like kind of some ingredients to make a meaningful dish, a wonderful trip combined with different experiences. We left there and headed to home at about 5pm. All in all, We had a wonderful time and we will never forget the trip.
